Why Kickboxing?

As a sport, kickboxing certainly can be rigorous and challenging. Students are allowed to train at their own pace, but they are also encouraged to push themselves to perform better and do more. This helps the child to build strength and stamina, as well as determination.

Classes in kickboxing are intensive, which means your child will get in shape rather quickly. What They Learn

In the classes, children learn the basic forms of the sport. This includes kicking and punching, knee movements, lots of exercises, and bag work. Instructors provide positive reinforcement for each child and children are allowed to go at their own pace. Drills will also be a large part of the classes to help them remember and to develop excellent form.

Self-Defense

The sport is a martial art, and they will also be taught some self-defense. This will give them greater self-confidence, as well, knowing that they are prepared to deal with unpleasant encounters if they should occur.

Fun

Of course, when children are involved, some fun needs to be a part of their learning experience. Instructors add the element of fun to excite the children and keep them interested in the training. Sometimes, there can be so much fun, the children forget they are exercising!

Martial Arts training teaches children to answer in a respectful manner to instructors (“Yes Sensei” or “No Sensei”), bow when entering and leaving the dojo, tag hands before sparring, stand straight before class begins and raising hands to answer or ask a question.

At a very early age, Martial Art students are encouraged to set long term goals. The most obvious goal is reaching the rank of Black Belt.
